DEFINITION
An explosion and flame proof motor
EEx-d is a rotating machine which can
work in an environment with the presence
of gases and/ or explosive or
infiammable fumes without causing internal
damage to the motor.
It is in fact:
Explosion-proof: its housing neither
cracks nor explodes in case of an inward
short circuit.
Flame-proof: it doesn’ t allow the exit of
gases and flame from the motor when
the ambient temperature is critical.

- fan cover protection IP 2x
- the motors are tropicalised
- the cooling fan is in non-sparking
synthetical material up to sizes 132,
metallic upper sizes

- screws: nickeled or cadmied
- stainless steel nameplate
- ball bearings type ZZ on both sides

Voltage and frequency
Motors can be wound up to 600 V 50 or
60 Hz.
According to CEI standard the rated
operating voltage can stand a variation
of ± 5% .
