The company was earlier engaged in fertilizer manufacturing and had two operating unit i.e., one million te / year Urea plant at Sahajahanpur U.P. and 1.5 Million Te/ year capacity DAP plant at Paradeep in Orrissa.Now the company has been allotted about 400 Square kilometer meter area in Jordan for extraction of oil shale for production of crude oil.The company has also acquired coal mines in Indonesia.
